Art 3081 - Intermedia Video Art

This was for a semester-long project in which, we had to come up with a concept for either a 2D or 3D animation story.

The group that I was in, decided to do 2D.

Here are few of the drawings that I had did for the scenes that I was assigned too.

Killing Frost

by

Alex, Anna, Jackie, Nate and Peyton

The scene begins with the moon, illuminating, casting shadows and reflections on the clouds and mountains around it. Winter in the form of a crow flies across the land, leaving a silhouette to follow as she swerves through the mountains towards a temple in the distances, surrounded by small trees that grow at the high elevations on the mountain's peak. Winter then lands on a branch, slightly shaking it and pruning her feathers. She glances through the trees, eavesdropping on the occupants of the temple.

Inside the temple, Spring dances to unheard music, twisting and turning in the open space. She pauses at vase, taking the time to revive the wilting flowers and allow the buds to open. She continues to move about the temple, her movements quick, fluid and oblivious. The scene then panes into a wide shot from a ceiling perspective as Fall and Summer dance around in a circular twirling motion. The trio continues as such, passing along until, during a lull in their interactions,  Winter enters causing them to be puzzled as well full of joy to see Winter has made it the gathering.

Winter then glares at Spring, Summer, and Fall in a menacing fashion. She then begins to raise her arm up towards the trio as they begin to tense up knowing what winter is about to do. She channels ice around her arm and then blasts the trio with a gusting burst of ice.

The scene fades to fade to black and winter exit the temple and then a leaf in the close shot begins to freeze over. Winter transforms back into her crow form and begins to circle around the entrance of the temple when suddenly everything around it begins freeze over. It’s silent, and then begins to fly away from the frosten temple. The scene then cuts to black and the credits begin with snow falling down.
